Treatment

Working Title – With Burning Desire

Estimated Duration – 1minute

Style – My film trailer is going to be the a combination of genre's but i intend to focus more on the Mystery/Romance genre and I will try to create a ghostly feel that is serious but not scary because it’s not a horror movie. An influence for this genre and story would be the film Ghost (1990).

Rationale – This production is relevant to the target audience as the main characters and setting are teenagers at college and this becomes relatable however, it does have a twist to it and therefore becomes an original idea. Its reflective of current media trends as there are many films coming out recently where the main character is either a teenager or relatable to the audience.

Synopsis – Serah Lakin, the new girl at college, is a ghost. However, she doesn't know that she is one and throughout the film she begins to remember and figure how who she truelly is. She meets a teenager called Leo James, who turns out to be pyromaniac and was the person responsible for her death but she falls in love with him. The film resides her development into herself, once again, and her story and trying to find out what happened to her in her previous life.

Intended Audience - Both males and females (2:4), aged sixteen to twenty. They most likely are in higher education and have a high cinematic interest.

Feasibility - This should be a workable project as there is a lack of special effects and with a genre that doesn’t need as much extra props in a comparison to an action or adventure film, it becomes easier to produce.

Format – I will be using the following form of technologies to create my products: Adobe Photoshop: Editing Software (iMovie): Sony HVR-A1E: FinePix S2750HD Camera: Computer (Apple Mac). I will burn the final video into a MPEG4 format.

Budget – I will need to buy some matches for the scene where Leo drops the match on the floor to burn the house down. I will also get my actors to work for free and borrow props and costumes when needed.
