Ancillary - Magazine Cover

Super 8 Film Magazine Cover
Entertainment Weekly magazine is distributed weekly while being owned by Time Warner. It is a TV and Film based magazine that contains many reviews and summaries of these forms of media.
The masthead itself is the largest piece of text on the page implying its importance because of the use or hierarchy.
There's a film reel/spool on the left side of the magazine which ties in with the main theme of the magazine. This reel also ties in with the dominant image on the page as the main character is using a video camera that is pointing to the audience. This camera is facing the readers and can create a sense or fear or anxiety as alot of people are "camera shy". The name of the film "Super 8" is the name of the film but is also the type of camera used by the character. The text is bold and white which harmonizes with the greyish background as they are technically of the same shade. It is also the 2nd largest piece of text on the page.
The main character is very "smartly dressed" possibly reflecting his social class as he is wearing a white shirt and what looks to be a jumper. The image itself is based on the right hand side to make sure the camera is the most obvious thing on the cover and it seems as if the camera is covering his right eye (from the actors point of view) so that it implies his eyes are like video camera's, recording everything that happens.
The directors named in the coverlines are coloured yellow and therefore stand out compared to the rest of the text.
(There is information about the film on this pdf http://www.super8-movie.com/assets/pdf/SUPER8ProductionNotes.pdf )
